NATO members Turkey, Bulgaria and Romania signed an agreement on demining the Black Sea on January 10. The move is aimed at improving shipping safety and shoring up vital Ukrainian grain exports to secure funding.The Istanbul-led initiative aims to clear mines from designated areas in the Black Sea following Russia’s nearly two-year invasion of UkraineReports say the secondary move is it exclude other NATO members from the security effort, including the US and the UK, to avoid escalating tensions in the region.
