US officials told the New York Times that the CIA is collecting information about senior Hamas officials and the location of hostages in Gaza. The American officials are sharing the intelligence about the organisation’s leaders with Israel, as per the New York Times.According to the report, the US does not transfer intelligence information to Israel regarding middle and field-level operatives of Hamas. The report added that the US opposes Israel’s policy of attacking lower-level Hamas operatives – arguing that targeting them harms civilians.
