Israeli soccer player Sagiv Jehezkel has been suspended from Turkish Süper Lig club Antalyaspo. He was suspended on January 14 for showing support for Hamas hostages in the Gaza Strip while celebrating a goal. After scoring the equalizer against Trabzonspor in the Turkish league, the Israeli player made a heart sign to the camera. He also displayed the words “100 days. October 7” along with a Star of David symbol on his wristband. Within an hour of the game, Antalyaspor announced that it was suspending Jehezkel “until further notice.” Meanwhile, Israel’s defence minister Yoav Gallant reminded Turkey of Israel’s swift assistance to it following last year’s earthquake.
