US-owned Vessel Hit In Red Sea, “Iran Spying On Israel Defence Officials”, 1 Dead In Tel Aviv Attack

The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said a vessel was hit from above by a missile near the Yemeni city of Aden. The US military confirmed that a Houthi missile was fired at the MV Gibraltar Eagle as it was passaging outside the Gulf of Aden. The Marshall Islands-flagged bulk carrier is continuing on its journey, CENTCOM said. One person was killed and at least 18 people were injured in the Ra’anana car-ramming attack near Tel Aviv, Times of Israel reported. Israeli Reserve Major-General Yitzhak Barik called on the army to devote all its resources to rescuing captives held by Hamas. The Shin Bet security agency claims that Iranian intelligence services have tried to spy on Israeli Defence officials by using fake social media pages. The Iranian operatives also initiated gatherings near the homes of the families of the Hamas-held hostages, the Shin Bet claimed. The IDF says it has begun to operate on the ground in central Gaza’s Nuseirat on Jan. 15. The Israeli military says two rockets fell in an open area in northern Israel near the border with Lebanon.
