Germany is preparing for the possibility of a Russian escalation that could lead to a conflict akin to a third world war, according to a report. German newspaper BILD made the claim based on leaked documents which detail classified military plans developed by the Ministry of Defense. The military plans say German armed forces are gearing up for what they describe as a “hybrid” attack by Russia in Eastern Europe.
