The US and the UK have carried out a new round of strikes on Houthis as the group continues to target commercial shipping in the Red Sea.A joint statement from six countries said “an additional round of proportionate and necessary strikes” had been conducted against eight Houthi targets. The fresh round of air raids were carried out with support from Australia, Bahrain, Canada and the Netherlands.The number of targets is considerably lower than the 60 which were struck in the first air raids on Yemen on January 11. The first round of strikes struck 60 targets at nearly 30 locations, using more than 150 precision-guided munitions. This time, an anonymous US military official quoted by Reuters said roughly 25 to 30 munitions were fired.
