Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant warned Hezbollah that Israel has many offensive tools it could employ in Lebanon. Speaking to troops at an airbase in Israel, Gallant said he has asked the Air Force to “point the noses of our aircraft northward.” This comes as the Israeli Army has deployed three troop divisions to the northern border with Lebanon. An Israel-Hezbollah war “would be a total disaster,” UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres warned last month. However, top Israeli officials have repeatedly threatened to go to war in Lebanon after the campaign to root out Hamas in Gaza is over.
