The Chinese embassy warned Tokyo against meddling in “China’s internal affairs” and “obstructing China’s reunification”. Japanese media reported that US and Japan named Beijing as a “hypothetical enemy” for the first time during the “Keen Edge” exercise. China expressed “grave concerns” to Tokyo regarding the reports, while Japan denied the accuracy of the drill details.
