Elite police squads from the US and Canada competed against unlikely counterparts in the 5th UAE Swat Challenge: Chechen and Belarusian forces. The Chechen Akhmat Kadyrov special police regiment won gold medals and a $5,000 cheque at one of the contests in the event. The team was led out by Adam Kadyrov, the son of Chechen leader and Russian President Vladimir Putin’s ally, Ramzan Kadyrov. The Chechen forces showed “unparalleled displays of agility, strength, and tactical skill” at the “Tower Event”, according to the organisers.
