Netanyahu Vows “powerful” Rafah Op, Vetoes Cairo Talks Without War Cabinet Meet, FBI Chief in Israel

PM Netanyahu has reportedly ruled out sending an Israeli delegation for further hostage negotiations in Cairo without consulting the war cabinet. Netanyahu rejected a new framework proposed by the Mossad, Shin Bet and the IDF for a truce and hostage release agreement, Kan news reported. The prime ministers of Canada, Australia and New Zealand have called for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza. French President Macron also told Netanyahu over a call that the Gaza death toll was “intolerable” and Israeli operations there “must cease”. The US has called for diplomacy to resolve tensions on the Lebanon front after Israeli strikes on its northern neighbour. The director of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation made an unannounced trip to Israel to meet the country’s law and intelligence agencies.
