Russia has deployed its newly formed “Africa Corps” to Burkina Faso as part of its strategy to “rebrand” the Wagner Group, reports say. Russia reportedly sent nearly 100 military staff to Ouagadougou last week, highlighting its growing ties with the military junta. The soldiers will help “protect junta leader Ibrahim Traore as well as the general public from “terrorist attacks”. “In the near future, the units will be replenished with another 200 military personnel from Russia”, as per Telegram channel “Africa Corps.”
