WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange’s current hearing at London High court is likely a last-ditch attempt to stop his extradition from Britain to the US. Assange’s wife, Stella, and his lawyers claim his case was politically motivated and that he is at a risk of being assassinated through “further extrajudicial actions” by the CIA or other agencies. One of Assange’s lawyers even alleged that former US President Donald Trump had asked for “detailed options” of how to kill Assange. Assange’s wife fears he would meet the same fate as Russian opposition activist, Alexei Navalny, who died in prison on February 16. The WikiLeaks founder has been accused of publishing a huge cache of secret military files and diplomatic cables in 2010 and 2011.
