Putin Inaugurates Global Hi-Tech Tournament ‘Games Of Future’ In Kazan

Russian President Vladimir Putin opened the first international hi-tech tournament in the city of Kazan on Wednesday.”The Games of the Future are our gift to the global sports family,” Putin saidat the opening ceremony of the event.The ceremony was attended by leaders of neighbouring countries – Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan – and featured digital performances along with a robot dog.Russia holds the first edition of the tournament, which runs till March 3.Teams from Russia and other countries, including China, India, UK, and USA will compete in sports such as like phygital football, drone racing and other disciplines combining physical culture and e-sports or VR/AR technology.According to the Kremlin, the tournament includes 21 innovative disciplines.More than 270 teams and more than 2,000 athletes from more than 100 countries will participate in the competition.
