France’s President Emmanuel Macron has refused to rule out sending French ground troops to Ukraine. Macron was speaking at a meeting of 20 leaders in Paris, mainly European, convened to ramp up the European response to the Ukraine war. French officials are worried there has been no single galvanising Western force responding to Putin’s aggression in Ukraine. Macron highlighted his belief that Russia’s defeat is absolutely essential for peace and security in Europe.
