Russia Enters Key Ukraine Village, Pushed Back From Another; Zelensky: Putin Eying Ex-Soviet Nations

Russian troops reportedly entered Robotyne, the fiercely contested village in the southern Zaporizhzhia region which Ukraine recaptured in 2023. Soldiers of Ukraine’s 3rd Assault Brigade claim they drove out Russian troops from the city of Krasnohorivka in Donetsk Oblast. Ukraine’s army chief said Kyiv’s forces have pushed back Russian troops from the village of Orlivka, west of Avdiivka, but the situation remains difficult. Russia has lost seven Su-34 aircraft over the last 10 days, according to the Ukrainian Air Force. Ukraine’s army chief Olexander Syrsky admitted that some military commanders revealed miscalculations in their operational assessments. Zelensky reiterated that “everywhere where the Soviet Union had presence” is under threat.
