Taiwan has reportedly secured the delivery of a massive 4,000-tonne patrol boat. This comes amid increased activity by the Chinese Coast Guard and PLAN’s* in and around the waters of the contested Taiwan Strait. Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen oversaw the launch of the Coast Guard ship “Taipei” on March 9. Taipei is one of the four Chiayi-class offshore patrol vessels manufactured indigenously by Taiwan’s CSBC Corporation, Focus Taiwan reported. Watch the video to find out more.
