The US says it expressed concerns to Niger’s junta about potential development of ties to Russia and Iran. The US officials that traveled to Naimey last week had “direct and frank” conversations with the ruling Junta there, as per the PentagonThe US State Department said that those talks were meant to address “Niger’s return to a democratic path.” Pentagon said the US government was continuing to communicate with Niger’s ruling military council known as the CNSP.
