Turkey’s powerful ruler Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s recent “last election” announcement has stirred a debate over who would succeed him. Last month, Erdogan said “I am working nonstop, because this is a final for me… under the mandate given by the law this is my last election”. His statement added to growing speculation that Selcuk Bayraktar, the producer of the famous Bayraktar drone could be the next ruler of Turkey. Bayraktar is top on the list of the potential candidates who could take over father-in-law Erdogan’s power after more than 20 years of reign.
