Taiwan and China can peacefully resolve their differences, said former Taiwan President Ma Ying-jeou on April 11. Ma made the statement after meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping during his visit to China. Ma highlighted that his visit demonstrated to the youth that both sides of the strait share a common ancestry, referencing the Yan and Yellow Emperors. Meanwhile, Xi told Ma that there are “no sticking points that cannot be resolved” in a bid to promote unification between the sides.
