President Vladimir Putin said on April 11 that Russia has not been invited to a Ukraine peace summit scheduled for June in Switzerland.”We are not invited there. Moreover, they believe that we have nothing to do there. But at the same time, they say that without us, it is impossible to decide anything. And since we are not going there, this is already a complete circus,” Putin said during a meeting with Belarusian president Alexander Lukashenko in Moscow.”I want to emphasize that we are “for” (peace talks), but not in the format of imposing any schemes on us that have nothing to do with reality,” he added. The Swiss government will host a two-day high-level conference in June aimed at achieving peace in Ukraine, it said on April 10, although Russia has made clear it will not take part in the summit.During his meeting with Lukashenko, Putin also said that he might ask Belarus to return as a mediator between Russia and Ukraine.Earlier on Thursday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that any negotiations on Ukraine without Russia were meaningless.
