European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen was briefly interrupted by a pro-Palestinian protester as she prepared to give a speech in Brussels on April 17.The protester said von der Leyen was under a “citizen’s arrest” for aiding a “genocide” in Gaza and said she had blood on her hands for expressing support for Israel.Von der Leyen continued her speech after waiting for less than a minute once the protesters left the room.She was speaking at the European Defence and Security Summit, which took place before a special EU summit of the bloc’s leaders due to begin on Wednesday evening.
