Spain’s PM Pedro Sanchez on April 25 said he would step back from public duties “for a few days” to contemplate leading the government. His decision came after a Madrid court launched an investigation into corruption allegations against his wife, Begona Gomez. She is accused by Manos Limpias of using her position to influence business deals. Meanwhile, Residents in the capital Madrid said they were surprised by the announcement and called Sanchez’s decision a “political move.”
