South Korea Suspends Military Deal As North Sends 3,500 Trash Balloons Over “Propaganda Leaflets”

North Korea said it would stop sending balloons carrying trash over the border to South Korea. However, it vowed to resume the practice if anti-North Korean leaflets are flown over again from the South. Since May 28, the North has sent nearly a thousand balloons carrying bags of rubbish. North Korea on May 29 sent hundreds of balloons carrying trash and what was labelled as manure across the border as what it called “gifts of sincerity.” It contained everything from cigarette butts to bits of cardboard and plastic, Seoul’s military said. North Korea scattered “15 tons of waste paper” using 3,500 balloons, according to its vice-minister of defence Kim Kang Il. Watch the video to know more.
