The Iran-backed Houthi rebels of Yemen have threatened to intensify operations against Israel with the Islamic Resistance in Iraq. The Houthis said that they launched two joint military operations with the Iraqi Islamic Resistance against ships at Israel’s Haifa port. A merchant vessel reported an explosion near it in the Red Sea on June 6, 19 nautical miles from the Yemeni port city of Mokha, British security firm Ambrey said. The Houthis have detained more than a dozen aid workers, including UN staff, in an apparently coordinated sweep, a Yemeni NGO claimed.
