China’s “Routine Action” With Jets, Ships Creates “Unsafe Situation” For Netherlands, Japan

Japan and the Netherlands protested China’s alleged aerial and maritime provocation in the East China Sea. The Netherlands on June 8 accused Chinese air force jets of circling a Dutch frigate and approaching a Dutch helicopter in the disputed waters. The Dutch defence ministry said that Beijing’s move “caused a potentially unsafe situation.” A day before, Japan claimed that four armed Chinese coastguard ships entered waters surrounding the disputed Senkaku island. In response, Tokyo lodged a “strong protest” through diplomatic channels demanding a swift exit from the area. Watch the video to find out more.
