The Israeli military said that four of its soldiers had been killed in fighting in southern Gaza on June 10. The soldiers were “killed in fighting in south Gaza”, the military said in a statement, without elaborating on the circumstances of their deaths. However, Hamas’s armed wing said its fighters had “booby-trapped” a building in Rafah’s Shabura refugee camp. Meanwhile US and Israeli officials told Reuters that Hamas, having lost about half its forces in eight months, is using hit-and-run tactics to thwart Israel’s control of Gaza.
