Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Pyongyang on a “friendly state visit” to North Korea for the first time in 24 years. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un greeted Putin at dawn at Pyongyang airport and the duo then rode in the same limousine and walked together into Putin’s hotel. The two leaders shared their “pent-up inmost thoughts” and agreed to develop their nations’ relations, North Korean state media said. Putin and North Korean Leader Kim Jong-Un are expected to sign several agreements, including on security issues. Meanwhile, the US said it is concerned about the “deepening relationship between these two countries.” Some Russian experts said the treaties Putin and Kim are expected to sign are in response to the US, Japan and South Korea’s plan to establish an “Asian NATO.”
