Hezbollah bombarded northern Israel with nearly 45 rockets on June 20 after an Israeli drone strike killed one of the group’s field commanders. The Iran-backed group said its fighters targeted an Israeli barracks with “dozens of Katyusha rockets”. Hezbollah claimed to have launched dozens of rockets at an Israeli military base near the northern community of Zar’it. The Israeli military said the operations officer of Hezbollah’s Jouaiyya regional unit was killed in an airstrike earlier on June 20. Israel is not prepared for the damage its electricity infrastructure would sustain if a full-scale war with Hezbollah breaks out, an Israeli electricity official said. Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken stressed the need to avoid further escalation with Lebanon during a meeting with Israeli officials on June 20.
