China’s Chang’e 6 Returns With First Samples From Far Side Of Moon, Xi Hails “Landmark” Feat

China’s Chang’e-6 lunar module returned to Earth successfully completing its historic mission on June 25. It comes bearing soil and rocks from the side of the Moon facing away from Earth, a poorly understood region. According to state broadcaster CCTV, the reentry module “successfully landed” in a designated zone in China’s northern Inner Mongolia region. The module touching down to a round of applause in the mission control room. Live images of the landing showed one worker planted a Chinese flag next to the capsule, enthusiastically unfurling it into the wind. Watch the video to find out more.
