The Iranian mission to the UN has warned Israel against an all-out attack on Lebanon would kick off a “obliterating war”. The warning came after the Israeli military said it had approved an operational plan for an offensive in Lebanon to counter the Iran-backed group. On June 28, the Israeli Defence Minister admitted that the country is “not looking for war” with Hezbollah and preferred a diplomatic solution. Far-right minister Itamar Ben-Gvir hit out at the Netanyahu government for discussing supporting a deal with Hezbollah to avert all-out war. Meanwhile, twenty-five missiles and three drones were launched into northern Israel from Lebanon, the IDF said.
