The Kremlin expressed concern over a Belarusian military report on July 1. As per the report Ukraine is moving more troops, weapons, and equipment into its northern Zhytomyr region, bordering Belarus. On June 27, the Belarusian Defence Ministry alleged that Ukraine was building up its forcesA spokesman for Ukraine’s border guard service said that such statements were part of a Russian-supported “information operation.” According to the spokesperson, Kyiv kept forces near the border with Belarus to prevent any provocations. Meanwhile, Belarus said that it is ready to respond to any situation unfolding on the border with Ukraine.
