“Escalation For Escalation…” Iraqi Armed Groups Warn Israel Against War With Hezbollah In Lebanon

Lebanese militant outfit Hezbollah said it fired more than 100 rockets at Israeli positions on July 3. The massive barrage came after the killing of a senior Hezbollah commander in an Israeli strike in southern Lebanon.Hezbollah said it attacked two positions in the Israeli-annexed Golan Heights “with 100 Katyusha rockets.” The Lebanese militant group also claimed to have fired “Falaq rockets” and heavy-duty Burkan missiles at two military sites in northern Israel.An Israeli military spokesperson told AFP that about 100 rocket launches had been made towards Israel from Lebanon. The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) said most of the rockets hit open areas, although some struck the Kiryat Shmona area. An Israeli army statement said emergency services were “operating to extinguish a number of fires” caused by one of the attacks in Kiryat Shmona.Israel later sent fighter jets across the border to strike “three Hezbollah rocket launchers” in southern Lebanon, said the IDF. The strikes carried out on the evening of July 3 also hit one of the launchers used in the barrages launched towards northern Israel, the IDF added.
