As Washington hosts its first NATO summit in 25 years, the US-led alliance grapples with a war in Europe in a grim reminder of the 1999 meeting. However, the scale of challenges the 32-member alliance faces as it celebrates 75 years is said be multifold and bigger than it was when NATO turned 50 in 1999. Experts say the three-day summit, which begins on July 9, will focus on ways to reassure Ukraine of NATO’s enduring support and future membership.
