The US and Germany announced the movement of more strategic weapons into Europe at the NATO summit in Washington. The US said it will start “episodic deployments of the long-range fires capabilities of its Multi-Domain Task Force in Germany in 2026”. The statement also said the new capabilities will “have significantly longer range than current land-based fires in Europe.” The statement said the exercise “will demonstrate the US’ commitment to NATO and its contributions to European integrated deterrence.” The long-range fires capabilities will include the SM-6 and Tomahawk missiles and “developmental hypersonic weapons.” Watch the video to find out more.
