On Thursday, eight firefighters were injured in a serious highway crash involving a fire truck in Southern California. Chief Brian Fennessy reported that the truck overturned on California State Route 241 while transporting a ground crew returning from a 12-hour shift fighting the “airport fire.” A ladder on the road caused the truck to swerve and hit a guard rail. One firefighter was airlifted, while others were taken to hospitals. The crew is undergoing critical incident stress debriefing following the traumatic event.
