A funeral for Iranian Revolutionary Guards’ deputy commander Brigadier General Abbas Nilforoushan was held in Kerbala on October 14. Nilforoushan was killed in Israeli strikes on Beirut alongside Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah on September 27. This was one of two funerals, with a second planned in Najaf before his body is taken to Iran. Iran’s Foreign Minister condemned the killing as a “horrible crime” that would not go unanswered, as announced by the Revolutionary Guards.
