US President Donald Trump on Feb. 9 announced that he would impose 25-percent tariffs on steel and aluminium imports. The move is the latest in a slew of trade levies that Trump has announced since his inauguration as America’s 47th president last month. Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One that he will announce the tariffs on Feb. 10.Meanwhile, Trump also said he would announce “reciprocal tariffs” to match his government’s levies to the rates charged by other countries. The US ordered tariffs on key trade partners China, Mexico and Canada soon after he took office. He paused 25-percent levies against Canada and Mexico for a month following talks and deals with their top leaders.
